Overview
The 2014 Fact Finding Survey Report on the Operation/Management of National Research Facilities and Equipment(hereinafter ‘Fact Finding Survey’) has been conducted to promote effective operation and sharing of research facilities and equipment after identifying the operation/management status by each stage on the entire cycle from introduction to disposal of the research facilities/equipment retained by the research institutes based on the national research facility and equipment management standard guideline (March of 2013, Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning)(hereinafter ‘standard guideline’).
It is to prepare the evidence for expansion and advancement of research facilities and equipment necessary for promoting effective and balanced R&D by securing basic data for the development of ministry-wide policies related to the research facilities and equipment while identifying the status of implementing the standard guideline by research institutes and research management specialized institutes through the inspection of management status on research facilities and equipment as a type of critical science and technology infrastructures.
The investigation result by each institute has been notified as quantitative index to the research institutes that are subjected to the fact finding survey to have the institutes devote interest and identify the unsatisfactory parts on their own to make improvement. The quantitative index by each research institute is planning to be managed continuously during the fact finding survey to analyze the trend of effort by each institute while the effort is planning to be made so that the implementation ability of policy can be strengthened even more by reflecting the result of fact finding survey during the institutional evaluation and equipment introduction of the research institute.
