- To enhance the efficiency of investments in national research facilities and equipment(F&E) through review of the introduction of the equipment such as construction feasibility, redundancy and the need for high-price research equipment.
- Description

- Organization and operation of 'the Review Board of the Research Equipment Budget', which examines the construction redundancy and feasibility of high-price research equipment that would be constructed with next year’s budget at the government R&D budgeting
- Management and supervision of 'the Research Equipment Acquisition Review and Evaluation Board' in each bureau and 'the equipment review board' in each agency
- Check if the equipment is acquired according to the deliberation results and tracing the equipment omitted from the deliberation
- Review of the construction feasibility of research equipment for the target program according to the preliminary feasibility studies

- In accordance with the Paragraph 5 of Article 12-2 of the Framework Act on Science and Technology, the general duties relating to the review of the budget for research equipment transferred to the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning, which allocates and adjusts the R&D budget as the research F&E management bureau for the improvement of efficiency in the review of the research equipment budget (March 2013)
- Regarding the research equipment constructed with the 2012 R&D budget, ‘Check on the Performance of the Research Equipment Review Results and Tracing of Review Equipment Omitted’ launched (Jan. 2012 - )
- Preliminary feasibility studies(F/S) on research equipment launched in the second half of 2011 (Jan. 2012 - )
- The Review Board of the Research Equipment Budget (Addition/Change Review) organized and operated (Jan. 2012 - )
- Related issues stated on the Recommendation (Draft) on the Performance of the Standard Guidelines on the Management of National Research F&E; the Review Board of the Research Equipment Budget (Addition/Change Review) organized and operated as a demonstration project (Oct. – Dec. 2011)
