Overview
The redundant development of research equipment is a typical example of the inefficient execution of government budget. While there have been few studies on the concept or specific evaluation of redundancy, there has been a problem that different standards are applied depending on circumstance. In other words, it is necessary to clarify the concept of redundancy regarding research equipment. This study described what items were applied in judging the redundancy of research equipment, understanding of the concept of redundancy, and its research methodology. In addition, guidelines regarding how the research equipment redundancy review report is applied to a review of the introduction of research equipment will be included in this publication and provided to researchers and reviewers.
