This report is published to set guidelines for the following with a goal of enhancing national competitiveness: i) expansion of intensive investments in brain research and ii) support, securing personnel, and education. For this, the brain research is divided into six categories (See, Know, Raise, Keep, Deceive and Make), and the contents are compared to advanced regions in brain research such as the U.S., Japan and Europe. In addition, brain imaging systems such as X-ray, Computed Tomography (CT), Position Emission Tomography (PET) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) are comparatively introduced. Lastly, the current distribution of brain imaging systems in Korea is visualized and explained using maps.
