  • Overview
    The importance of equipment is very crucial in terms of research support which is the foundation of development on science and technology while price or scale of equipment is also getting rapidly increased.

    Among the amount of national research and development investments in 2005~2012, it has been totalized that about 6.6 trillion won has been invested on the national research facilities and equipment sector. While the situation is that the expense of 740 billion won is being invested on equipment each year as of 2010, there is great expenditure of foreign currency because considerable quantity of research equipment is being imported from overseas and the situation is that the development of related industry in our country is also insignificant.

    In case of our country, as it is expected that more expenses will be used on research facilities and equipment for expanding research infrastructure, we're in a desperate need of preparing a system to compare redundancy on similar identical equipment which is an important judgment criteria for the budget review of research equipment and the objective performance of equipment which becomes the calculation criteria for optimum prices.
